Paisley Motif: Symbol of Protection

Adorned with India’s iconic paisley motif, this handmade cushion is a perfect blend of cultural heritage and conscious design. Known as a symbol of fertility and protection, the mango-shaped pattern is commonly found across Indian festivals, rituals, and art – from Diwali decorations to bridal henna.

Crafted from 100% upcycled cotton sourced from Indian craft and designer hubs, this cushion gives new life to premium textile offcuts that would otherwise end up in landfill. In India alone, up to 25% of fabric is wasted during production – this design helps change that.

Whether you use it to add character to your sofa, style your bedroom, or gift it to someone who appreciates eco-friendly decor, this cushion makes a statement that’s both stylish and sustainable.

Available with or without an insert. Zip fastening on reverse for easy removal and washing.

Handmade & Supports Dying Craftmanship

This offering is made by Jagdish and his team of talented artisans from Uttar Pradesh in India who make their products entirely by hand – a labour intensive process that requires time and attention to detail. The team are passionate about combining their love for the planet with home décor.

“Our mission is to protect the environment by rescuing and repurposing fabrics and preventing them from being discarded into landfills or burnt off” - Jagish, maker.

Waste Not: Crafted from Reclaimed Fabrics

India’s duet with the cotton industry dates back over 4,500 years ago. Over time Indian artisans and traders have refined their skills and have since been one of the biggest producers of cotton - so much so that in ancient Greece and Babylon, the word ’India’ was used as a synonym for ‘cotton’.

These cushions are made from repurposed, 100% upcycled cotton that has been retrieved from piles of fabrics in craft houses and designer hubs that would otherwise be burnt and thrown into landfills.

Durable & Easy to Clean

100% upcycled cotton. Gently hand or machine wash at 40ºC with similar colours. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse on low heat.

Craft Worth Saving

Treasures Beyond Trends.

ALORAA isn’t just a brand - it’s our stand against mass production. In 30 years, 30% of India’s artisans have been forced to leave their craft as the world stopped paying attention and factories took over.

We exist to preserve and celebrate traditional craftsmanship, bringing slow, meaningful artistry back where it belongs: into your home.
